Chalk Walk Registration- 4 x 4
Artists and families are invited to participate in the Chalk Walk; Street Chalk Art Display will be held in conjunction with the Fine Arts Festival in Churubusco. Squares will be assigned to each participant who will then create works of art. The art will be on display during the festival.
Saturday August 24th 8 am - 5 pm
Square Prices & Details:
4’X4’ square: $15, includes 12ct pastels, water.
8’X8’ square: $25, includes 24ct pastels, water.
Registrations and payments are due prior to Friday, August 16, 2024.
Material Restrictions: One box of sidewalk chalk will be provided for each pre-registered participant. Participants may bring their own chalk, brushes, and water. Chalk must be water-based. The use of any other material is prohibited except for diluted tempera paint, which may be used as a thin wash of undercoat. Tempera paint is the ONLY paint allowed to be used as an undercoat for your artwork.
Space Assignments: Spaces are given out randomly on a first-come, first-serve basis. Some spaces may have cracks and color or texture variations. We will not be able to move you to another square.
In Case of Rain: If cancelled due to inclement weather, participants can pick up their event bag at Churubusco Government Center, 204 N. Line Street, Churubusco anytime during business hours (8:00 am – 4:30 pm M-F). No refunds will be issued.
Judges: Judges are unbiased local people consisting of festival sponsors and community except for the People’s Choice Award, which will be chosen by the public. Judging will begin at 5:00 pm and winners will be announced.
Categories and Prizes: Plaques and prizes will be awarded to the winners in each category.
· 3D Illusion - $100
· Favorite Fictional Character - $100
· People’s Choice - Money received from the winning participant’s donation box.
Main Street Churubusco reserves the right to deem any subject matter as inappropriate for this all-ages, non-commercial event. Inappropriate subject matter includes hateful political statements, political campaign/endorsement messages, commercial advertisements (statements or logos by non-sponsoring organizations), or subject matter not suitable for children.

Violence, pornography, or blood and gore
Hateful imagery or inflammatory messages toward any individual or groups of people
